Programme overview

This exciting programme aims to develop your skills as a performer and prepare you for your next steps into higher education and a career in the performing arts. You will learn the fundamental techniques of acting, singing and dance through a series of assignments that culminate in full-scale productions in a dedicated theatre and external venues such as the Grand Theatre and the Tower Ballroom.

Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4/A*-C including Maths and Science. Applicants with a grade 3 in English will be accepted, but must study a GCSE in English alongside this programme.

Course Facts

A varied curriculum will allow you to develop your voice, physicality, performance skills and confidence. You will learn about and perform classic, contemporary and innovative material.


This involves practical projects and performances, presentations and the development of a portfolio. Our expert tutors will help you to set, work towards, monitor and evidence your own personal targets.


This programme gives you an opportunity to perform in professional theatre spaces – current students recently presented two innovative and highly successful productions at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre. Other enrichment activities have included theatre trips to Manchester and London as well as workshops with Radio 5 Live and BBC Strictly Come Dancing.

New applications are no longer being accepted for Lytham Sixth Form College following the decision to close the College in summer 2019.
